The Challenge
Recruiters spend seconds on a portfolio. A hybrid designer-engineer profile is the hardest to communicate in those seconds: lead with design and the engineering disappears; lead with code and the craft does. The challenge: build a portfolio that doesn't describe both skill sets — it demonstrates them simultaneously, by being the product.
The Problem
A static CV flattens a non-linear, twenty-year career into bullet points. Recruiters arrive with different questions — a design lead wants process, a hiring manager wants outcomes, an engineer wants the stack — and a fixed page answers none of them well. And every claim a portfolio makes ("I build AI-native systems") is unverifiable text unless the visitor can test it.
The Solution
An agentic portfolio: a conversational AI experience where each visitor asks what they actually want to know. The assistant answers from a curated knowledge base — career story, resume, case studies, FAQ — in natural conversation, in English or Portuguese. The claim isn't written; it's running.
Design System
A dark, HUD-inspired visual language: JetBrains Mono for the system voice, Inter for content, one warm accent per context, glassmorphic surfaces, and a consistent card grammar shared by the work grid, the chat, and the story pages.
Interaction & Narrative Design
A five-chapter interactive story — The Accidental Technologist — with a fixed glassmorphic bottom navigation, a chapter indicator living in the header shell, and cinematic media slides. A portfolio that reads like a narrative, not a directory.
Engineering
Static-first Astro with React islands, bilingual routing, Contentful as the content backbone for frequently-updated media, deployed on Vercel. The same production discipline the case studies describe — applied to the designer's own product.
